HDMI High Speed delivers image resolutions of up to 4096 × 2160 pixels at 24 Hz and is therefore ideally suited for future applications such as Full HD including 3D playback.

New features of the HDMI High Speed standard include an audio return channel and network functionality.
This will also make it possible to use the Internet in the future. Thanks to the new audio return channel, it is now possible, for example, to connect a television to a multi-channel system via the HDMI cable, thus reducing the amount of cabling required. HDMI High Speed cables are downward compatible, i.e. all features of the old HDMI generation are retained, such as Deep Color and x.v. Color.
